Ssangyong actually made a presentable car! Hallelujah!

Little bit of Renegade, little bit of Countryman, and a whole lot of 500X. I think it’s a very nice looking little cute ute. Especially by Ssangyong standards.

Kinja'd!!!

The interior also looks like a really nice place to be.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Gone are the days of these... things. The Chairman isn’t a half bad looking car either, but that’s just because it’s an old E-Class Merc in a hat. Kinda reminds me of the Equus as well.

From the outside it looks like a Juke and a Mini had a baby.

Wasn’t there some discussion of SsangYong entering the US, possibly under a different name? Or is that dead now?

For obscure SUVs. I don’t like the Ssangyong Tivoli.

Kinja'd!!!

I’d sooner have an MG GS.

I say the Musso has swag, especially the 3.2L straight six. 0-60 in 8 seconds, yo.

It is a new car. The Tivoli has been out about a year or so I think.

Up till now MG just had the MG3 (small hatchback) and the MG6 (compact) cars available in the U.K..

If any Chinese brand were to enter North America, MG would probably have the best chances. Although, the sales in the UK aren’t doing very well, so maybe not.

Still, compared to other Ssangyongs, it still isn’t a bad effort.

The U.K. has fallen out from the MG brand really. The older (MG ZR, ZS, ZT and ZT-T) are liked quite well. The cars parts are brought over and assembled in the U.K. but there is no substantial range or anything, very much an ‘also ran’ in car sales.

Why didn’t you include a picture of it?

From the reduced picture on the front page, I thought it was a weird new Mini. Looks alright from this angle.

I think I saw a Chairman on Friday. I briefly saw a really odd looking large sedan with diplomatic plates. I was pretty sure that it had to be a car belonging to Chinese or Korean embassy as Japanese don’t bring anything interesting with them and others are even more conservative in their vehicle choices.

Usually I recognize quite well anything that moves here so this was exceptional.
